HKYWCA visited solitary elders in rural areas before the Chinese New Year

HKYWCA Tin Shui Wai Integrated Social Service Centre organised “Simple‧Just” home visit event before Chinese New Year, to help elders living alone to prepare for the Chinese New Year.

Around 100 volunteers and staff from the Association joined the event. They visited elderly living in Ngau Keng, Shui Tsan Tin in Yuen Long and Tin Shui Estate in Tin Shui Wai.  Not only did the volunteers visit the elders and sent out gift packs with daily and festive supplies, they also helped cleaning the houses, weeding the garden and painting over the wall. For elders living in the rural Ngau Keng and Shui Tsan Tin, they offered additional simple health check, haircut service, and conducted group exercises e.g. acupressure exercises and laughter yoga, hoping the elders stay healthy.

The Association would like to thanks The Jockey Club Eduyoung College and all volunteers for participating in “Simple‧Just” home visit event to bring care to the society.
