THE ASSOCIATION
The Association is a Non-Governmental Organization ("NGO") with 90 years of history in Hong Kong. It was the first women’s association established in the territory and now has over 70 service centers serving the population ranging from infants to the elderly of different nationalities.
With a staff force of about 1,000 and supported by over 8,500 registered volunteers, the operations of the Association include hotels, kindergartens, a secondary school, elderly centers, youth and community service centers and continuing education centers. It has a member base of over 30,000 with an annual operating budget of over HK$450 million, making it a prominent NGO in Hong Kong. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive "CE" is responsible for implementing the policy and direction of the Board, managing the entire operation of the Association and serving as a bridge between the Board and the staff. Besides delivering the diversified services consistent with the mission, values and objectives of the Association, the CE is also responsible for assuring sound corporate governance and effective fund raising.
REQUIREMENTS The CE should possess more than 20 years of working experience, of which over 10 years in senior management. He/she should be a strategic thinker with strong corporate management experience. Working experience in NGOs would be an advantage. The candidate should be a leader with excellent interpersonal skills. He/she should be an energetic executive with high organisation management ability spanning over diversified services and business. Good academic qualifications with a Master degree and strong communication skills, fluent in English and Chinese are distinct advantages.
