HKYWCA and Elite Athletes visited the underprivileged
Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association (HKEAA) and HKYWCA co-organised “Together We Care 2019”, bringing more than 1,900 volunteers to spread love and care to elders and low income families.
HKYWCA volunteers, together with Mr. Raymond Tam, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Wilfred Ng, GBS, MH, JP, Honorary Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association, Ms. Malina Ngai, JP, Vice-Chairperson of Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association and a number of elite athletes, including Chan Ho Ling, gold medalist of Asian Squash Championships, and Mok Uen Ying, silver medalist in Wushu Competition of Asian Games 2018, visited 2,500 households with elders and low income families in 11 districts. They had conversation with the needy and presented gift packs filled with food and necessities.
The value of the Association’s “Simple‧Just” programme - an unadorned life to reduce waste – has again been incorporated into the event. Volunteers did not only help alleviate poverty, but also promoted environmental friendly concepts to the service users.
