AXA Foundation promoted healthy living to HKYWCA’s service users
The Association was again invited to join AXA’s annual Corporate Responsibility Week to organise volunteering activities and promote healthy living to citizens. AXA Foundation, a charity arm of AXA Hong Kong and Macau, held a series of activities on “healthy diet”, “physical health” and “mental health” with HKYWCA, to raise participants’ awareness on health management. Volunteers and participants prepared bento which is high in dietary fibre, fresh fruit juice etc., to learn about the nutritional values of different healthy ingredients, and how to maintain a balanced diet. In another workshop, 200 AXA volunteers, children and elderly spent a jolly afternoon together, making low-sugar, low-fat sweet glutinous rice balls with no artificial colours. The process also helped children and elderly strengthen their muscles and improve hand-eye coordination. Besides, AXA Foundation is concerned about elderly’s physical and mental health. Floor curling workshop and outing to Y Farm were organised to promote regular exercise. Drawing and board games activities were held to keep the mind of the elderly active, so as to help prevent dementia. The Association was glad to work with AXA Foundation in its Corporate Responsibility Week and promote healthy living to our services users.
