Urban Group Caring Day connected three generations to spread love in the community

Urban Group and HKYWCA co-organised “Urban Group Caring Day” to spread care and love to the needy elders and kids in the community.

“We are happy to work with HKYWCA again! This year, over 100 staffs from our group join as volunteers to care for the needy and to build a more harmonious community,” said Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, during the opening ceremony. Urban Group and HKYWCA have been working closely to provide care to the needy in the community. The Association invited over 100 elders and children from Tin Shui Wai, Ngau Tau Kok and Tsing Yi to join the volunteer team from Urban Group so that the three generations were linked together through the event.

The volunteers learnt how to make potted cake from the instructor of Handmade 38C. Then, they guided the kids and elders to master the skills of making cacti, roses and bees with fondant, and decorate the cakes together. Participants enjoyed the activity very much. Their hand muscles and hand-eye coordination were enhanced too.

The volunteers accompanied the kids and the elders to distribute the nicely made and packed cakes to the underprivileged kids in the community, and the residents in Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly in Sham Shui Po. Not only did the volunteers bring gift bags and potted cakes to the residents, but also a sense of the festive blessing.
