YWCA has long been dedicated to nurturing outstanding ERB course trainees and instructors. At the “ERB Annual Award Presentation Ceremony 2025-26”, the Association achieved remarkable results, receiving multiple awards that served as a tremendous encouragement to our entire team and partners.

The prestigious event was officiated by Mr. Chris Sun, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Ms. Alice Lau, JP, Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare; and Mr. Sam Hui, JP, Commissioner for Labour. They were joined by Professor Simon Wong, BBS, JP, Chairman of the ERB, and Mr. Byron Ng, BBS, Executive Director of the ERB. Over a hundred awards were presented to recognise trainees' dedication to self-improvement and skill enhancement, and to commend partners for their support of “skills-based” training, highlighting the social value of vocational training.

The Association was honoured with the “Employment Services Award” and the “Promotional Award”, both of which affirmed our professional excellence in employment support services and the promotion of retraining programmes. Furthermore, several instructors and trainees demonstrated exceptional performance, with a total of seven individual awardees as follows:

Ms. Cheung Wun Luen - Outstanding Instructor Award (Basic Course for Post-natal Care Workers)
Mr. Wong Jackie - Outstanding Trainee Award (Basic Certificate in Horticultural Assistant)
Ms. Yet Wai Han Claudia - Outstanding Trainee Award ("Training-Employment-One-Stop" Scheme Basic Certificate in Care Worker)
Ms. Ho Ching Ching - Excellent Trainee Award (Basic Certificate for Post-natal Care Workers)
Ms. Cheng Wai Lam - Excellent Trainee Award (Certificate in School Administrative Assistant)
Mr. Ho Pui Hang - Back-to-Work Training Award (Certificate in Health Care Worker)
Mr. Law Tai Yin - Back-to-Work Training Award (Basic Certificate in Horticultural Assistant)

The Association is also immensely proud to work hand-in-hand with various employers. 16 partners nominated by the Association received Employer Awards, including the highest honour, “ERB Outstanding Employer of the Year Award”. We sincerely thank these enterprises for their trust and support to our trainees.

Among our award-winning trainees, the story of Mr. Ho Pui Hang, recipient of the “Back-to-Work Training Award”, is particularly moving. The award recognised individuals aged 60 or above who actively participate in training, re-enter the workforce, or embark on a second career. Having worked in sales for over 30 years, Pui Hang left his job at the age of 60 due to company restructuring. However, he did not let this deter him. He instead enrolled in the ERB Health Care Worker Certificate Course offered by the Association. 

Upon completing the course, Pui Hang successfully transitioned into a part-time health care worker, whilst also taking on lifeguard duties. As a “slasher”, he continues to leverage his skills and expertise in various roles, serving society and demonstrating a proactive attitude unconstrained by age. Pui Hang's story is not only a personal success but also a perfect illustration of the Association's mission to promote continuous learning and rebuild confidence.

The fruitful results achieved by YWCA at the “ERB Annual Award Presentation Ceremony 2025-26” serve as the best testament to our long-standing commitment to career development and education. These awards belong to all staff members, passionate instructors, courageous trainees, and supportive partners. Looking ahead, the YWCA will continue to uphold its mission to cultivate more outstanding talents for society and contribute to the sustainable development of Hong Kong's labour market. We hope every trainee can find their own stage to shine, just like our awardees!
