A special centenary celebration event to share love with the community
After a century of development, YWCA has set up service units throughout Hong Kong and has established close ties with different communities. In order to share the joyousness of the Association’s 100th anniversary, 39 centres held a special programme in mid-October, inviting the public to join our open days and have fun.
The programme was held on a whole week and 9 thematic routes had been designed, such as two art and history routes on Hong Kong Island, and one in the New Territories West that led participants to the filming locations of this year's hot movie "Beyond The Dream". People were invited to experience the unique culture in each district by visiting the landmarks and enjoying street food.
When visitors arrived at our centers, not only could they collect the special stamps, but also had fun. 34 fascinating activities, such as workshops, trial courses, fitness challenges, etc. had been arranged for the public to enjoy, and hence get a grasp of the uniqueness of different centres. Our staff also prepared souvenirs to share love and care with the participants.
A secondary school student, who has stopped volunteering for a long time because of the epidemic, joined the leather DIY workshop with her friends in Butterfly Bay Integrated Social Service Centre. She was very happy and commented the handmade leather case as exquisite and useful for storing hand rub.
