CLARINS invited children of underprivileged families to join baking class
CLARINS, a renowned cosmetic brand organised an event “Walking along with the kids” in late June. Children from the grassroots living in Sham Shui Po were invited to join a baking class. Accompanied by over 20 CLARINS’ volunteers, the children made chocolate cakes and scones and spent a wonderful weekend with full of sweet fragrance.
CLARINS volunteers joined the children for lunch before the baking class. They played BINGO game to get to know each other. During the baking class, volunteers assisted the children to incorporate all the ingredients such as flour, milk, beaten eggs and sugar. Then they poured the mixture into the baking molds and put those molds into the ovens. When the cakes were done, they put toppings on the cake to make it more attractive and delicious. Volunteers finally took photos for the children with their stunning cakes.
Parents nowadays usually arrange various extra curriculum activities for the children during their leisure time, however, it is not easy for the grassroots to make such arrangements for their kids. Thanks to CLARINS for arranging this meaningful event for the children to experience the fun of baking. Some of the children said it was their first encounter with cake baking. They were excited to share the self-made cakes and scones with their families. The kids appreciated CLARINS volunteers for their encouragements and company. They all enjoyed an unforgettable and delightful weekend.
CLARINS has always been looking for ways to give back to the society, taking care of children in the society has been one of its core values since the establishment of the brand, as CLARINS believes “taking care of the children, also means taking care of the future”. With this hope to bring a brighter future to the children in need, CLARINS worked with YWCA to engage and bring exciting experience to them through this activity. Thanks to CLARINS for arranging this wonderful event for the children. It was a very fruitful experience for them.
