Chevalier Group sponsored elderly to purchase small household appliances
Chevalier Group volunteer team visited elderly singletons and doubletons living in Tsing Yi in mid-Aug. Apart from sending gift packs, they paid attention to the physical condition and living environment of the elderly, and identified needs for health inspection and household appliances.
Old domestic appliances are prone to malfunctioning. Common wear and tear include rice cookers with the coating peeling off, fans running with abnormal noise, electric kettles failing to switch off automatically, etc. Many elderly seldom check the small electrical appliances at home, which might affect their health and cause accidents in the long run. Understanding the living habits of the elderly, Chevalier Group decided to organise home visits and sent its volunteers to identify the elders’ needs. With its support, our service users will be able to replace small home electrical appliances, and hence enhance their living conditions. The volunteers are now in search of suitable appliances, and will pay another visit later to deliver the presents, together with their love and care, to the elderly.
