YWCA is delighted to announce the launch of a cushion, in which the drawing of Edmond, an autistic child, is used. Let’s enter the world of star children and you will be impressed by their creativity!

Kids with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) are talented in their own ways. They are often called “the star children”, as they shine like the stars in the darkness. They are highly focused and have the ability to specialise in a particular topic, demonstrating exceptional talent. Many ASD kids have great memory and remarkable powers of observation, allowing them to notice details that others overlook. One will be amazed by their creativity and imagination, expressed through arts, science and mathematics. 

Subtle observations and unique perspectives are always found in autistic children’s drawings. They express their inner emotions and worldviews through their works, which show symmetry and precision. These works are not only the reflection of their inner world, but also provide them with an effective way of communications, allowing them to share their feelings and thoughts with others in the form of visual art.

Edmond’s drawing contain all his favourites. By turning it into heart-shaped cushions, they carry the message of love and faith too. Apart from cheering you up, we also want you to appreciate the potential of the star children. 

The cushion is now available for purchase at YWCA’s online shop! All proceeds, after deducting costs, will go to the Association’s A-Strength Family Club, which provides autism support services, including:

◇ Enhance their social adaptability
◇ Broaden their career development horizons
