YWCA will organise Flag Day on May 30. In collaboration with the popular emoticon character “SHO-CHAN”, we will present a journey filled with joy and fun.

Life is about finding Joy in the Game

The design of this year's flag stickers ingeniously incorporates board game elements. In the game, you might be penalised with a skipped turn or find your path blocked. Don’t rush! Face the challenge with a smile! 

While the world says victory lies at the “starting line”, we believe in winning at the “smiling line”. By appreciating the present with a joyful heart, you gain so much more. When others are racing towards the finish line, we enjoy the process more than the prize. Sharing a laugh, supporting one another, and enjoying those little pleasure might not make us run faster, but it helps us go further.

Though life can be unpredictable as a board game, we hope SHO-CHAN’s cheerful image reminds everyone that happiness is just around the corner. No matter how rugged the road, YWCA will always be with you, walking together through the laughter and the tears.

Every volunteer adds a splash of colour to this game. YWCA looks forward to working hand in hand with you to bring SHO-CHAN’s positivity to more people in need. Let both the givers and receivers be blessed and encouraged as we create a unique life journey together.

The Director of Social Welfare has given approval to three organisations to sell flags on Hong Kong Island region, in Kowloon region and the New Territories region respectively on May 30, 2026 and YWCA is authorized to conduct flag sale in the New Territories region on that day.
