To help children with special educational needs (SEN) experience life, the Chevalier Group's volunteer team organised the event “Let’s go hand in hand – Exploring together”, to visit a science exhibition and attend a dessert workshop with the kids, which enabled them to learn in an enjoyable way. 

Many children love dinosaurs and are curious about these long-extinct prehistoric creatures, making it perfect to visit the “Science Exhibition on Dinosaur Fossils”. Accompanied by the volunteers, the children explored the dense forest, swamp, sky, and deep-sea zones, immersing themselves in an environment reminiscent of the dinosaur era. They did not just go on a sightseeing tour, but completed specific tasks while interacting and taking photos with different exhibits. 

After the visit, the volunteers took the children for lunch and had a short break before the afternoon activity – making blueberry pastries. With the volunteers' encouragement, the children focused on their progress and patiently learnt how to make delicious desserts on their own. It was definitely a fun challenge! They were happy to bring home the tasty and attractive blueberry pastries and share with their families.

The participants cherished the opportunity to join this meaningful event, which helped them to learn proper interaction with people, social manner, and knowledge that will help them face daily challenges. The event also gave parents a break from their carers’ role. We would like to thank Chevalier for organising such activities and bringing joy and satisfaction to our service users.
