Fun Facts of YWCA - Dazzling time travel to the past
Things have changed over the century, but YWCA’s belief hold. We serve, speak for the needy, and stand by Hong Kong in her ups and downs.
To tell the many stories in the last hundred years, Fun Facts is produced to take our guests back in time and discover YWCA’s most significant and exciting moments.
Two episodes have been aired. The first one is about the Wah Kwong Clubs, which were formed in the 1920s by a group of students from different girl high schools. They organised activities, such as literacy classes for children, and the Rice Bowl Programme to raise funds for the underprivileged. The second episode tells how YWCA started early childhood education service by setting up the first nursery school in Hong Kong in the 1940s. It is clear that “to advance the spiritual, mental, physical and social welfare of individuals” has been our purpose throughout the years.
