Sponsored by The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited, HKYWCA organised the Youth Business Start-up Experience Day on June 10 and 11 at Tseung Kwan O Metro City Plaza. It fostered entrepreneurship by providing youth a platform to put business plans into practice and to promote creativity and innovation.
The recruitment of talent was launched in March and over 20 young talents won a seat in the Experience Day with their exhaustive business proposals and outstanding interview performance. A wide variety of creative products were being sold, including hand-made clothing, accessories, art pieces, natural skincare products etc. A lot of people were attracted by the products and enjoyed shopping in the market. The talents agreed that the Experience Day has created a great promotion and sharing channel for approaching their target customers. Also, they treasured the opportunity to learn how to run a business, which includes product creation, budget control, publicity, etc. HKYWCA hopes to organise similar events in the near future, to assist more young talents to start their business. The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited launched the Microfinance Scheme in collaboration with banks and non-governmental organisations in 2012. The Scheme aims to offer loans to assist people who wish to start their own business, become self-employed or achieve self-enhancement through training, upgrading of skills or obtaining professional certification. HKYWCA is one of the participating non-governmental organisations.
