YWCA organises ChariTea in March every year to send blessing to women. The plan to resume handing out tea bags in the street was wistfully disturbed by the fifth wave of the epidemic. In order to deliver our warm wishes to Hong Kong citizens, we had decided to employ a first-of-its-kind arrangement - online distribution.

The Association is grateful for the sponsorship from our corporate partners, including the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Betterment Catering Management Limited, Jade Land Properties (HK) Limited, Lee Hong Dispensary Superstore Co., Ltd., ProCare Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Centre, Union Enterprises and Urban Group. The assistance from over 10 supporting organisations is also appreciated.

Apart from giving out the tea bags to the public through our service centres and partners, we had planned to visit different communities to dispense on Mar 8, i.e. International Women’s Day. Yet, the event had been called off because of another wave of COVID-19 outbreak since mid-Feb. Instead, we decided to deliver the small gifts to people who register via ChariTea website, so that they can enjoy the drink without leaving home. We are delighted that the online event was well received.

To further raise funds to help women who became unemployed during the epidemic, the Association launches three red-date gift boxes, one of which is a limited edition with glass tea bottle. Distance does not discount love. Let’s share our care and tenderness to the women in need!
