Manulife sponsors employees to donate gift bags to elderly
It is more blessed to give than to receive. To promote the virtue of caring for the society and put it into practice, YWCA was pleased to cooperate with Manulife Hong Kong and launch the festive gift bags, which were to be purchased by Manulife staff and donated to the underprivileged elderly during the pandemic.
Manulife gave charity sponsorship to each of its 35,000 employees around the world to "pay it forward" and create acts of kindness to help those in need. Y Silver Link, the elderly homeware online store run by the Association, was invited by Manulife Hong Kong to design gift bags consisted of anti-epidemic supplies like face masks and hand sanitisers. Other items included winter duvets, resistive hand exercisers, and water bottles with pillbox attached.
The donation project received tremendous support from Manulife employees. Some of the gift bags have been distributed to the elderly in the community through Cheung Ching Neighbourhood Elderly Centre after Lunar New Year. We wish the elderly strong as an ox and good luck in the Year of the Ox.
