To ease the burden and strengthen primary healthcare at the community level, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has initiated the Jockey Club PHARM+ Community Medication Service Network, providing medication dispensing, management and counselling services. YWCA is honoured to join the project and set up PHARM+ YWCA Community Pharmacy in Sheung Shui to serve the North District. 

The Community Pharmacy is an important part of the primary healthcare system, serving the community by providing dispensing services and health advice on minor ailment and chronic disease, empowering the public in self-managing their health. Community pharmacists will assess individual needs and offer expert advice on medication use, help the public to manage one’s own health, and promote safe and effective medication use. In addition, pharmacists participate in public health initiatives like medication education, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.

Tips for dispensing

According to the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance (Cap. 138), controlled medicine have to be sold by registered pharmacist or under his supervision, in the registered premises with the “Rx” logo. Prescription drugs must be dispensed according to doctor’s prescription.
