Many senior citizens prefer sticking to their own community and rarely have the opportunity to go out. Thanks to Shui On Seagull Club for organising a one-day trip which allowed grassroots elderly to explore North District. They visited different tourist attractions and enjoyed a delicious veggie meal with the volunteers. The participants spent a meaningful and wonderful weekend together. 

Volunteers accompanied the elderly to Kwu Tung North Multi-welfare Services Complex and visited three out of the seven elderly homes constructed by SOCAM Development Limited for the Government. The tour allowed the elderly to learn about the most recent residential care service for elderly, hence get rid of any negative impression on elderly homes. The group then enjoyed a delicious veggie meal and visited the market in Wun Chuen Sin Kwoon. Volunteers and elderly went to Tai Po Lookout Tower after lunch and were impressed by the beautiful scenery of Tolo Harbour. Hong Kong Railway Museum was the last stop. The traditional railway station and facilities recalled their memories. Thanks again for the efforts of Shui On Seagull Club. The elderly enjoyed the volunteers’ company very much.
