YWCA continues to implement Strive and Rise Programme this year. The Association has successfully recruited more than 800 students, ranging from Form 1 to 4, coming from Kowloon City, Yau Tsim Mong District and Sham Shui Po. The programme allows them to enhance their abilities and build up their self-confidence. Through interaction, exchanges and sharing with the mentors, as well as participation in volunteer services and visits, participants are able to learn about themselves, broaden their horizons, develop their potentials and plan for their future.

In the second graduation ceremony of Strive and Rise Programme held last month, YWCA trainees performed the song "Stars" to encourage other students to shine in different fields. Their performance was recognised by Ms. Chan Lai-chu, Assistant Director (Youth & Corrections) of the Social Welfare Department. Ms. Yvonne Yeung, Chief Executive of YWCA, Ms. Emily Lee, Deputy Chief Executive and Mr. Foster Lam, Service Director (Youth and Community Services) also attended to show support and encourage the young people. 

Last year, YWCA’s Strive and Rise Programme team trained more than 600 young people and organised more than 200 activities and over 5 exchange tours. We wish these graduates continued excellence and dedication to their dreams, and hope that in the future they will share their experiences with the new cohort as alumni and carry on the spirit of the programme!
