Three YWCA units jointly celebrated new milestones

While the Association celebrates its 105th anniversary in Hong Kong, some of its units have also been serving the community for a long time. This year, Sham Shui Po Integrated Social Service Centre, Chi Po Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, and Ming Yue District Elderly Community Centre held anniversary celebrations to share the joy with community partners and members, to review achievements over the years, wishing to build a better community together in the future.
Sham Shui Po Integrated Social Service Centre “30 Years of Companionship & Affection”
This 30th anniversary celebration showcased cross-generational collaboration through youth music performances, thematic exhibitions, and sharing sessions from a youth community participation initiative. The “CAFÉ THIRTY” programme—operated by SEN children and their carers — combined art workshops and interactive games, embodying community inclusion. Distinguished guests Ms. Ma Tsui Yung, District Social Welfare Officer (Sham Shui Po), Social Welfare Department joined the Association’s Deputy Chief Executive, Ms. Emily Lee, and Service Director (Youth & Community Service), Mr. Foster Lam to officiated at the ceremony.
Chi Po Neighbourhood Elderly Centre: “30 Years of Love & Boundless Joy” Anniversary
The centre primarily serves elderly in Sham Shui Po. Many members were invited to attend the anniversary celebration. Interactive sessions and dialogues helped to showcase the centre's achievements in community engagement over the past 30 years. Participants were invited to experience nature-inspired healing, and to play with the 5-Sense Box, a set of materials designed for elderly to improve their five senses. Apart from Ms. Ma Tsui Yung, District Social Welfare Officer (Sham Shui Po), Social Welfare Department and Mr. Kenneth Chow, Service Director (Aged Care & Community Health Service) of the Association, many partners also joined us in this joyful celebration, including Pei Ho Counterparts, Luk Lam Dessert, TriaNX Charity Foundation Limited, Society Of Boys' Centres Hui Chung Sing Memorial School, Shing Hing Tai Grocery Shop, etc.
Ming Yue District Elderly Community Centre: “25 Years of Bonding – A New Chapter of Smart Living”
During the 25th anniversary celebration, the centre’s achievements were not only showcased through stage performances, but also interactive booths such as “Immersive Forest Healing”, “Wisdom Tea Room”, “AI Photo Studio”, etc. Guests and members were attracted to interact and take photos. A simple yet loving ceremony was held to honour senior members and volunteers who have joined YWCA since the centre’s establishment. Ms. Hau Suet Fan, Iris, Assistant District Social Welfare Officer (Eastern/Wan Chai), and Mr. Kenneth Chow, Service Director (Aged Care & Community Health Service) of the Association officiated at the ceremony, with the support from 34 local organisations.
The three events were not only milestones for the centres, but also a proof of the power of a cohesive community. YWCA will continue to expand its scope of services, integrating technology and creativity to enhance the quality of life for diverse groups. We look forward to working with our community partners to bring a bright new chapter to the society.
