Verinteers (Volunteers of Verint) invited children from the grassroots living in Sham Shui Po to join a baking class and make chocolate cakes together. They also prepared pastry for grassroots elderly. All children, elderly and Verinteers had a wonderful afternoon.

Verinteers made palmiers in the first session of the baking activity. The freshly-made puff pastry were sent to an elderly centre in Sham Shui Po. Elderly liked the sweet treats very much and were thankful to the Verinteers’ caring heart. The Verinteers then joined children from Sham Shui Po for another baking class to make bear-shaped chocolate cakes. Children from grassroots families, or with special education needs do not have much opportunities to attend interest classes. Thanks to Verint for arranging this meaningful event so that the children can experience the fun of baking, and enhance their learning experience. The encouragements and company from the Verinteers also helped boost participants’ self-confidence. The children enjoyed an unforgettable and delightful afternoon, and were excited about sharing the handmade cakes with their families. 

Verinteers spread their love and care to grassroots elderly and children in a meaningful baking activity. Both elderly and children benefited from this volunteering event. The Association looks forward to more similar collaborations so as to bring positive energy to the community.
