Christmas is around the corner! Many people have great ideas to spend their Christmas with family and friends. But some people would like to spread their love and care to people in need in our community. Volunteer team of China Overseas Holdings Limited organised an afternoon tea workshop with YWCA Chiu Oi Wah Nursery School. They spent an enjoyable afternoon tea party with the nursery school students there.

The afternoon tea party offered a healthy menu with quinoa rice balls, low-fat mini fruit tarts, whole wheat donuts, Japanese-style egg roll and winter fruit tea. Volunteers and kids made desserts and finger food according to teacher’s instructions. They mixed wheat powder, pan-fried egg rolls, decorated fruit tart with different fruits and prepared fruit tea bags together. After finished making all the food, volunteers assisted the kids to decorate three-tier afternoon tea trays with colourful fruit tarts and they shared the delicious food. Volunteers appreciated the precious moment with the lovely kids in the tea party. Kids learnt a lot throughout the process of preparation and they found joy of cooking so much. Thank you China Overseas volunteer team to bring so much fun to the nursery school. It was an unforgettable enjoyment brought to the kids for their first encounter to afternoon tea. They were excited to share their self-made desserts and finger food with their family. Both volunteers and kids spent a delightful afternoon together.
