“We Care You Care” Storytelling Exhibition and charity sale
Funded by Swire Properties, the “SEWomen” scheme and illustrator Nothing Serious worked together and brought forward “We Care You Care” Storytelling Exhibition, hoping to promote a harmonious community of carers, while SEW CARE aprons charity sale helped to raise funds for YWCA’s carer service.
With an ageing population, more and more elderly or chronic patients are in need of care and attention. The Hong Kong Council of Social Service estimated that there are currently over 1.12 million carers in Hong Kong. The exhibition features 11 paintings by the illustrator Nothing Serious, whose work depicted how ordinary people helped others in needs. YWCA’s service users also contributed their real-life stories, which were the one about the restaurant manager, the bus driver and the security guard.
A counter was set up for the charity sale of the SEW CARE aprons, which are designed for elderly to dine out. Project proceeds will be used to set up a new hotline to provide immediate and appropriate advices for elderly carers.
