The Association co-organised “Y Worker” with Youth Employment and Training Programme of the Labour Department, to provide young people, aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at sub-degree level or below, internship opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real working environment. 

Trainees underwent a 6-day training workshop to discover their potential and gain insights about job searching, interviews skills and the basic requirements of different industries. According to their wills and talents, they were later assigned to a centre of the Association, e.g. integrated social service centre, elderly centre, nursery school, holiday lodge, etc. They worked four days per week and 8.5 hours per day for a month, and had a taste of different tasks in the office, including reception, clerical duties, event management and support services, etc. 

YWCA has been working with the Labour Department for some time and the seventh and eighth batch this time have provided working experience and deeper understanding of social services for around 100 trainees.
