To address the pressing physical and mental health needs of grassroots families, Hong Kong Baptist Hospital organised Family Health Day 2026. Supported by the Hong Kong Medical Association, the event invited YWCA and the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society to participate, helping to recruit around 200 residents from the East Kowloon district.

The event focused on providing grassroots families with comprehensive, one-stop physical and mental wellness services. The diverse programme featured medical check-ups, on-site medical reports explanations by registered doctors, seminars on home first aid and medication safety, as well as nutritional and psychological counselling services. A variety of interactive game booths and magic performances were also arranged to help relieve the daily stress of vulnerable caregivers and children.

Many participating families expressed that they rarely have the time and energy to focus on their health, as they are usually busy making a living. Through the event, they were not only able to undergo professional medical screenings free of charge, but also gained practical health advice from experienced clinical professionals.

The event mobilised more than 100 medical professionals from various disciplines, who dedicated their expertise to serve the public and actively promoted the long-term development of a healthy community. The Association extended its sincere gratitude to Hong Kong Baptist Hospital for the invitation. YWCA firmly believes that community health services are not limited to one-off physical check-ups, but are a continuous journey of companionship and commitment to the community. We look forward to nurturing future partnerships to drive public health innovations and safeguard the holistic well-being of more families in the neighbourhood.
