YWCA joined hands with Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association, Hong Kong Jockey Club and Po Leung Kuk Riverain Primary School to organise “Together We Care 2025”. The Association mobilised its citywide network to coordinate venues across five districts and recruit 1,000 participants, including elderly living alone, underprivileged youth, and families, thereby fostering community integration through sports exchanges and material support.

In response to the 15th National Games, this year’s initiative encouraged participants to adopt healthier lifestyles. Ten Hong Kong elite athletes such as Cheung Siu Lun, Vut Tsz Ying, Tong Cheuk Pan, Chow Chi Ngan, Au Wing Chi, etc. led fitness sessions across the districts. They also shared their personal struggles in the handwritten greeting cards to inspire grassroots communities. Mr. Daniel Lee, Chairman of the Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association, stated that they will continue to promote volunteerism and care for the elderly and those in need.

As the co-organiser, Ms. Yvonne Yeung, Chief Executive of YWCA remarked, “the initiative helps embed a culture of care in our communities. Coinciding with the Association's 105th anniversary, we will work harder on targeted poverty alleviation and bring innovated service to support vulnerable groups.” YWCA arranged health seminars across different districts, showing the elderly how to use the items in the goodies bags.

Sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, 1,000 goodies bags were distributed to the needy. In addition to food and daily necessities such as calendars, umbrellas, fish maw with quinoa and vermicelli, the bags also contained fitness items like stress balls and resistance bands, which athletes used to demonstrate exercise suitable for a home setting. Mr. Raymond Tam, Executive Director of Corporate Affairs at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, led 50 corporate volunteers to join Mr. Ma Chun Wai, CEO of Metro Broadcast, and YWCA elder services representatives. They urged the public to care for their physical and mental well-being. The event was concluded with the assembly of the installation symbolising unity across the five districts, extending participants’ best wishes for Hong Kong athletes to achieve outstanding results in the National Games.
