Sponsored by Lee Hysan Foundation and ZeShan Foundation, the Association is pleased to join the two-year Blue Sky Project, which aims to make good use of latest technology to optimise energy efficiency, improve air quality in the centres, and save our planet. 

Four services units of the Association, including Tseung Kwan O Integrated Social Service Centre, Lung Cheung Integrated Social Service Centre, Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly and Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge, join the Blue Sky Project and have already installed sensors and air monitors provided by the Blue Sky Energy Technology Limited to track real-time energy consumption and measure indoor temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide etc. Based on the data collected, analysis will be done and energy saving opportunities will be identified, e.g. modifying the setting of the appliances, raising the temperature of the air conditioners, improving ventilation with exhaust fans etc. 

In order to ensure the project will proceed in a smooth manner, five of our colleagues have been appointed to be the Blue Sky Ambassadors. They have completed training on analysing data collected by the sensors, devising plans to save energy and improve indoor air quality, and evaluating the effectiveness of these measures. Except observing the daily data and making adjustments accordingly, they will attend workshops to familiarise themselves with energy conservation, and share their knowledge and promote the Blue Sky Project with the community to increase public awareness of environmental protection.
