YWCA service users received PARKnSHOP Cash Food Coupons
The Association was pleased to be one of the NGO partners in PARKnSHOP Cash Food Coupon Charity Programme in a bid to reduce the financial burden of the underprivileged under COVID-19 pandemic.
The coronavirus pandemic has brought a distressing impact on Hong Kong economy and the livelihood of the grassroots. Yet, expenses for masks and disinfection supplies etc. can never be cut down, and hence bring extra burden to the underprivileged. Therefore, PARKnSHOP cooperated with different NGO partners, including YWCA, to dispatch cash food coupons, which can be used in supermarkets to redeem foodstuffs and cleansing products etc., to low-income families, elderly and disabled persons. The Association has contacted eligible service users and distributed the coupons to them since October. When the city entered the fourth wave in late November, many were grateful for the timely help.
PARKnSHOP has been supportive to YWCA’s elderly services for years. The Association is pleased to see that the programme extends its reach and covers needy at all ages all over the territory. We look forward to future collaboration with PARKnSHOP to provide help and care to the society.
