YWCA was the "Top Fundraising Organisation" in the care for The Care for The Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign 2020
The threatening epidemic does not reduce the demand for elderly services, and fortunately neither does it hinder the public's enthusiasm for doing good. The Association joined the Care for the Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign 2020 (“the Campaign”) as usual to raise funds for our self-financing elderly service units, and is happy to announce that more than $900,000 was raised under this difficult circumstances. The Association was ranked first as the “Top Fundraising Organisation” among the 108 participating organisations.
The funds YWCA raised will go to the Association’s Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (Eastern District), which provides diversified services for frail elderly, and Jockey Club Y Evergreen Learning Centre, which encourages young retirees to keep learning and accept new challenges.
In response to the government’s anti-epidemic measures, the Association scaled down the outdoor sale and hence depended greatly on the effort of our staff, volunteers and members to meet the target by making handicrafts and organising charity sales. The Association sincerely thanks all donors, partners and volunteers who provided support and assistance to protect the welfare of the elderly.
