YWCA has been honoured with the prestigious "Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Community Services Award" for its "Jockey Club Embrace Life Series 2.0 – Embrace Emotions Programme for the Youth", standing out under the rigorous scrutiny of a cross-sector professional judging panel. Organised by Lions Clubs International District 303 - Hong Kong & Macao, China, the award presentation ceremony was recently attended by representatives of the Association.

In recent years, youth mental health has garnered significant public concern. To address this pressing societal need, the Association has implemented a two-year social service programme, made possible by the generous donation and support of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The project aims to enhance mental health awareness, help-seeking awareness, and stress management capabilities among youth people and their key stakeholders. The programme employs various professional theories and creative art interventions, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Music Therapy, and Forest Therapy.

Over the past two years, the programme has successfully established a comprehensive "Golden Triangle" support network, extending its reach to 41 schools and organising over 400 activities for students, parents and teachers. Driven by innovative thinking, the highly representative "Dears & Tears Youth Music Theatre" turned the "emotional soothing songs" voted by 2,000 young people into a collective healing ritual. Featuring a collaborative performance by singer On Chan and a group of young people, the production offered a heartwarming journey of solace for the soul.

The programme has achieved highly significant results in enhancing psychological and emotional well-being. Students demonstrated marked improvements in mental health knowledge, the reduction of anxiety symptoms, and emotional regulation. Parents and teachers also noted that the programme helped them identify mental health warning signs in young people. Furthermore, teachers expressed their gratitude to the programme for providing frontline educators with a vital space for respite and mental rejuvenation, thereby comprehensively safeguarding campus mental health.

The Association expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the service team for their dedication and proactive response to community needs. Looking ahead, the Association remains committed to supporting youth emotional wellness through innovative approaches, while actively expanding its diverse social services to promote positive values.
