The Association’s Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly organised a thanksgiving ceremony cum fun day to celebrate its 25th anniversary and shared the happiness with the Board members, partners, family members and volunteers.
The Association was honored to have Ms. Leung Wai Ling, Betty, Assistant District Social Welfare Officer (Sham Shui Po) of Social Welfare Department, The Revd Ho Kam Tim, Arthur, Vicar of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui St. Thomas’ Church and Mr. Silas Poon, Service Director (Elderly Service & YWCA Movement) of the Association to officiate at the opening ceremony. Women volunteers and the elders presented handmade flower baskets to the guests and partners to express our sincere gratitude to their continuous support. Wan Wah has prepared a video to showcase their different services and transformation during the years.
Moreover, the elders and their family members had played a short drama with the staff, to explain how Wan Wah promotes active aging and care for the elders’ family members. After the ceremony, interactive game booths were set up for the guests and partners to experience different innovative services, e.g. chair dance, physical exercise training, cognitive simulation, cosplay as Cantonese opera performers etc.
Thanks to Maria's Bakery for sponsoring delicious cakes and cookies for the guests, and to all the volunteers, elder members and their family members who supported and participated in the event.
