Digital workshop helped youths to improve competitiveness
Invited by Microsoft HK and WebOrganic, the Association co-organised a 5-day workshop to provide digital training and job market information to non-degree holders aged 16-30 to enhance competitiveness.
Participants learned how to use digital programmes e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Excel and Power BI, to analyse big data. The representative of Microsoft Hong Kong pointed out in the “FutureReady” sharing session that AI, big data and cloud computing will be of vital importance. He recommended some free self-learning resources to the participants and encouraged them to enrich their knowledge on information technology, of which they can take advantage as there is a lack of digital talents in Hong Kong. Besides, the workshop passed tips on writing resumes, attending interviews and finding jobs to the participants, so as to help them stay on top of new opportunities in the job market.
In view of the volatility of COVID-19, parts of the courses were switched to online teaching to secure participants’ health.
