ChariTea 2020: Sending love and care to needy during epidemic situation
The Association organises the “ChariTea” programme every year and gives out red-dates tea bags to spread love and blessings. Based in Hong Kong for 100 years, the Association has gone through ups and downs with the people here. Despite the unexpected epidemic, we make an effort to provide appropriate services and care to the needy.
This year, due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Association transforms the ChariTea programme into a series of disease prevention actions, and distributes the tea bags with anti-epidemic goods to solitary elderly, underprivileged families, single mothers, chronic patients etc. We hope to provide physical help to the needy and cheer people up during this difficult time.
HKYWCA is grateful for the support from our corporate partners, including The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Bank of East Asia, Betterment Catering Management Limited, Lee Hong Dispensary Superstore Co., Ltd., ProCare Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Centre, Union Enterprises and Urban Property Management Limited. The proceeds of the programme will go to our self-financed women services.
The ChariTea programme is still in progress. With the donation and participation of our corporate partners, we are able to deliver the disease prevention packs, in which there are face masks, groceries, disinfection products, food coupons etc., to the service users.
