Discover the community with “CLAP MILES @ City Tour”
HKYWCA CLAP Team organised “CLAP MILES @ City Tour” to raise public’s awareness on regular exercise and interest in the community with a running event in the Central and Western District.
A group of youngsters who joined CLAP MILES Taiwan Tour had completed a wide range of activities, including physical training and long distance running training, exploring new sports like flyball and Dodgebee, volunteering at sport event, joining local long distance race etc., before taking part in the marathon and other friendly matches held in Taiwan. They enjoyed the programme very much and hence decided to organise a running event by themselves.
The group of youngsters visited the Central and Western District before the event day to trial the running route. When they met the participants, they made sure everyone had warmed up before they set off. They started from the Dried Seafood Street in Sheung Wan, and jogged along Upper Lascar Row, Man Mo Temple, PMQ, Tai Kwun etc. The youngsters also introduced local history and culture of the community along the way. Participants agreed that the activity was novel and fun. They also appreciated the youngsters for being considerate and preparing bananas and drinks for them to build up strength.
