Hang Seng Bank joined a day camp with underprivileged children
Hang Seng Bank volunteers participated in a day camp with underprivileged children to encourage learning outside classroom.
Volunteers arrived at HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge with the students and played mini games to know more about each other. They were then divided into groups to compete with Dodgebee, complete orienteering tasks and reach the designated location with limited materials. The groups’ scores were so close that the participants were motivated to discuss strategies in order to win. In times of difficulties, they encouraged each other and looked for a better solution to complete the tasks. Participates did not only understand the importance of appreciating their teammates and working as a team, but also learnt how to listen to others and express oneself better. At last, they tried the traditional snack they made with coconut milk, glutinous rice flour, red beans, mung beans and loquat leaves.
The Association would like to express our thankfulness to Hang Seng Bank and its volunteers for accompanying the children in the event. They enjoyed a happy day, and went home with experience that cannot be obtained in class.
