Morgan Stanley prepared dainty meals for the elderly
Volunteers from Morgan Stanley prepared dainty meals and shared care and joy with seniors living at Cheng Pon Hing Care & Attention Home for the Elderly.
Some seniors with swallowing difficulty can only eat pureed meals. However, unattractive pureed food may spoil their appetite and impact their health in the long run. Hence, volunteers from Morgan Stanley decided to help prepare appetizing meals for the elders.
Pureed diet meals are unappealing, in terms of both the look and the taste. After being invited by our colleague to taste regular pureed food, volunteers understood the reason why the elderly are not willing to eat. Instructed by our cook, volunteers made delicious teriyaki chicken rice bowls with vegetables. The seniors enjoyed them very much, and ate more than usual – even those with poor appetite asked for more.
The Association would like to thank Morgan Stanley volunteers for visiting, preparing meals, and spending time with the elderly. It was a meaningful afternoon for all participants.
