YF Life volunteer team visited the Association’s Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly, to send care and joy to the residents. Volunteers arrived at the home for the elderly and got tips on taking care of elderly with dementia or who are physically weak. They then played different kinds of board games with the elderly, to help them stay mentally active. For example, “Rummikub” trains players’ cognitive operation and logic, “Jenga” improves participants’ muscle and hand-eye coordination, the elders’ version of “Monopoly” encourages players to share their life experiences. They also used a training kit to let the elderly express their feelings towards the daily routine and the good old days. The elderly had a lot of fun with the volunteers. Thanks to YF Life and its volunteers for spending time to chat and play with the elderly.
