Elders joined Xiqu Centre tour sponsored by Hang Lung Properties Limited
In view of its importance in Chinese culture and popularity among elders, Hang Lung Properties Limited invited a group of elders from the Association to join a day tour to the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District, and enjoy a performance about Cantonese opera.
Hang Lung volunteers accompanied elders in Sham Shui Po and Tsing Yi to visit the facilities in the Xiqu Centre. They listened to the tour guide introducing the features of the building and how it utilises multimedia materials to educate the public about the art of Cantonese opera. After the tour, they had delicious dim sum while enjoying a show in the Tea House Theatre. The performance, with sessions of wind and percussion music, Nanyin, Cantonese opera songs etc., impressed the elders very much. Some of them even went backstage to take photos with the performers.
The Association is grateful for Hang Lung Properties Limited to organise such event for the elders. The participants were all happy and had a lot of fun to watch an impressive performance at the newly opened Xiqu Centre.
