HKYWCA Elderly Services Department and JCI Island co-organized a Taiwan trip for the underprivileged elders, who took a flight for the first time in life.
It was the elders’ first time to travel to Taipei. They visited the most renowned attractions, including the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall to learn about the history of Taiwan, Tamsui and Yangmingshan National Park to enjoy the spectacular sceneries, Taipei 101 and Ximending to taste the ambience of the city. The student volunteers accompanied the elders and helped them to take photos throughout the trip. They also visited Shilin and Raohe Night Market, in where they excitedly explore the local culture with different goods and food.
The trip allowed the elderly to take their first flight. The experience was terrific and all of them enjoyed it very much. They also praised the students for their tenderness and taking care of them during the whole trip.
The Association would like to thank JCI Island for sponsoring and co-organising the Taiwan trip, to let the underprivileged elderly have the opportunity to take a flight and travel.
