The Association and Elder Academy Cluster co-organised the “Hong Kong Island and Kowloon West Elder Academy Cluster Closing Ceremony 2017 - 2018”, to acknowledge the efforts of the programme participants and promote lifelong learning.
We were honored to have Dr. Lam Ching Choi, BBS, JP, Chairman of Elderly Commission Membership, Dr. Leong Che Hung, GBS, OBE, JP, the 1st Chairman of Elder Academy Development Foundation and Mr. Chan How Chi, current Chairman of Elder Academy Development Foundation to attend the event. They expressed their appreciation to the elders who are pursuing lifelong learning and active ageing.
More than two hundred elderly members received compliment in the ceremony and the participant with the highest learning hours completed almost 200 hours. The Elder Academy hosted a variety of programmes. Not only did it offer traditional courses like languages, arts, physical training, but also aromatherapy, meridian beauty etc. The participants agreed that they have learned a lot and expanded their social circle throughout the programme.
At last, the elder members performed African drum and dancing, which were learned from the Elderly Academy. The audiences enjoyed the show very much and clapped their hands to boost the morale.
