HKYWCA Butterfly Bay Integrated Social Service Centre has launched the “Volunteering Work with Love” programme, to visit and care for the underprivileged in Tuen Mun.
The teenage volunteer team visited around 100 underprivileged people living in Tuen Mun, including elders living alone, mentally handicapped persons, grassroots families and ex-mentally ill persons. Not only did the volunteers arrange different activities e.g. interactive games, performances, home visit, for the needy, they also sent out handmade gifts like tie-dyed products, handmade soaps, hand cream, eco-detergent, etc. In order to prepare the unique and pretty gifts, the teens had completed a series of lessons to learn making use of eco-friendly materials. The gifts were sent out with love and blessings to the needy and to remind them to concern for the environment.
