HKYWCA Sai Wan Social Centre for the Elderly (Sai Wan Centre) organised thanksgiving and volunteer appreciation ceremony to celebrate the completion of its renovation and express admiration for the elder volunteers. The Association was honored to have Mr. NG Wai-lung, David, Assistant District Social Welfare Officer (Central Western, Southern and Islands)2 of Social Welfare Department and Rev. John Ho, Chief Pastor of Chi Fu Baptist Church to officiate at the ceremony.
Sai Wan Centre has served the community for 37 years. It works with Chi Fu Baptist Church to organise activities including Bible classes, evangelism ministries, Chinese opera etc. to spread the gospel. The renovated center is spacious and comfortable for organising different activities. With newly purchased physical training equipment etc., Sai Wan Centre will continue to promote healthy living among elders.
To express our appreciation to the elders who are keen on the centre’s events and volunteer services, awards were given to four teams. The Gold Award team is amazing and has accumulated more than 2 thousand hours of services!
