Co-organised with Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China and Chinese YMCA College, HKYWCA Elderly Service Department held the annual fitness walking event at Ma On Shan Promenade, which attracted 50 pairs of golden age couples to participate. The event aimed to encourage the couples to develop common interests and a healthy living style that are the key elements of a successful marriage.
The professional tutor led the elder couples to do the warm up exercises and shared the rules of fitness walking. Mr. Silas Poon, Director of HKYWCA Elderly Service Department, and Mr. Ricky Cheung, the Vice-chairperson of Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China then hosted the kick-off ceremony. Besides accomplishing the 1500 meters fitness walking journey, the participants were invited to join the marriage and relationship counselling seminar and took photos at the photo booths. At the finishing point, they were served with food to refresh themselves. All couples were given a pair of pedometer watch at the end, encouraging them to have a healthy life and wishing them a happy marriage.
