The SMART Baby Care Scheme organised the breastfeeding and caring tips health seminar for expectant parents, under the support of the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). The Association was pleased to have a doctor from the Department of Paediatrics, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and consultants from SMART Baby Care Scheme to be speakers. Over 100 participants including the expectant couples and their families attended the seminar.
While Dr. Helene Wan, Honorary Clinical Associate Professors at the Department of Paediatrics, CUHK presented knowledge of breastfeeding, including breast massaging, the proper way to breast milk storage, etc, SMART Baby Care Scheme consultants shared the caring tips for mothers and babies. Ms. Candy Cheung, an experienced post-natal care helper introduced the benefits of drinking herbal tea after giving birth. She also demonstrated the procedure and invited the participants to taste the tea. Ms. Shirley Chan, a registered nurse showed how to massage the baby. At last, all participants received a gift pack with a new born baby handbook and herbal tea recipe.
