A training and career expo, organised by the Association’s Career Development and Continuing Education Department to help women and post-50s join the workforce again, attracted around 900 people.
The expo was funded by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). About 5,000 vacancies were available in health care, retail, property security, beauty, food and beverage industries, etc. and nearly half of them were part-time jobs. Some of the visitors applied for jobs on-site and some even got an offer.
Except job matching, there were also talks by women and post-50s who had started working again. Skill demonstration, ERB course information, employment advisory service and career counseling services were also provided so that visitors can access information on the latest labour market and equip themselves for joining the workforce in the near future.
