People celebrate the Mother’s and Father’s Day every May and June to show love to their parents. This year, volunteers from Sinomax visited the Association’s Lam Woo Memorial Day Care Centre for the Elderly to celebrate the meaningful festivals and share the joy with elderly.
The party started with volunteers singing songs honoring the elders and showing appreciation. They then gave the participants a massage. After that, the volunteers and elderly enjoyed their time making beautiful photo frames, having lunch and chatting. At last, the elderly was surprised with the cards, gifts and flowers.
The participation of the volunteers made the event successful. The Association was grateful for Sinomax’s support in joining the 1st Serve-a-thon Hong Kong. Serve-a-thon Hong Kong was hosted by HandsOn Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. By bringing together NGOs, corporates, government, media and civil society in collaboration for over a thousand pieces of volunteer work, it raised public awareness about the importance of community engagement in addressing social issues.
