With the support from J. P. Morgan Chase Foundation, HKYWCA has launched “Road to Success” Youth Employment Programme for sub-degree holders. As the first stage of the programme has come to an end, participants are now having pre-employment training and workplace attachment training in different corporates and organisations.
The officiating ceremony of the programme was held on September 14, with Mr. Stephen Sui, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Ms. Diana Tsui, Head of Global Philanthropy, Asia Pacific, J.P. Morgan; Ms. Kam-shing Kwang, Senior Country Officer for Hong Kong, J.P. Morgan; Mrs. Patricia Ling, MH, JP, HKYWCA’s President; and Ms. Yvonne Yeung, HKYWCA’s Chief Executive, as guests.
Mrs. Ling thanked J. P. Morgan for its support and was grateful that the programme would help over 300 participants during the project period. Ms. Kwang promised that J. P. Morgan will continue to work together with HKYWCA and help workplace newcomers. Mr. Sui also commented that the programme has been a good match and encouraged community-business-government collaboration.
Representatives from different education institutions and corporates were invited to join the ceremony. Some of them showed interest in receiving more participants, in the hope of helping more youngsters to understand their strengths and better plan their future.
