Career Planning has been actively promoted in recent years. HKYWCA, invited by Project WeCan, held two sessions of Career Exploration Day for over 3,500 students from 50 secondary schools. The events were supported by the Government’s Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged.
The programme aimed to provide career and vocational assessment, consultation, job tasting and talks for students as well as parents and teachers. It also provided tailor-made reports which students could make reference to when planning their future.
The opening ceremony was held on November 28, 2015, with Mr. Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. Stephen Ng, Chairman of Project WeCan Committee; Ms. Lai Sau Ling, Deputy Chief Executive of the Association as officiating guests. Ms. Yvonne Cheung, Chief Executive and other members from the management of the Association attended the second sessions held on June 25, 2016.
