Rehab products increase elders’ mobility and reduce the risk of accidents. Therefore, the demand grows drastically as the population is ageing fast. However, many elders hang back due to the high cost of the items and for the repairs in case of damages.

With the support from DBS Social Enterprise Advancement Grant and Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund, NWS Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (North District) launches Green Care, a one-stop trading platform for second-handed rehab products. The products can be recycled, sold, rent or even given to people in need for free through the platform. The living standard of the elderly will be improved without adding further financial burden. At the same time, the platform helps to reduce waste to the environment.

By using the platform, people can:

• purchase rehab products at low cost;
• rent rehab products as needed, to avoid purchasing unnecessary goods; and
• donate second-handed rehab and/or medical products.
