HKYWCA organised recruitment day to provide market information and job opportunities to women

HKYWCA Women Affairs Department and Sham Shui Po Integrated Social Service Centre co-organised a recruitment day for women and attracted 330 visitors.

Participating corporates from different industries including retail, logistics, catering etc. offered more than 1,000 vacancies. 7 of them conducted on-site interviews and 135 women were offered a job. Different guests were invited to give interactive sharing. A barista brewed coffee for the participants and stated her experience and challenges after switching occupation. A physical trainer mentioned some occupational safety tips while teaching stretching exercises. A female traditional Chinese physician introduced the industry and also recipes of herbal soup for autumn and winter. A balloon artist who faced marital adversity shared how she moved on and started her performance career by continuing studies. She also made flowers with balloons to wish the participants good luck.

Apart from the sharing session, the Association prepared leaflets, mini game and pouch drawing workshop to promote family-friendly employment practices e.g. marriage leave, five-day work week, flexible working hours, etc.

HKYWCA Women Affairs Department launched a career programme for women this year, aiming to promote family-friendly employment practices and enhance women’s competitiveness in the workplace through a series of activities. The recruitment day is one of the events under the programme.
